New Book Tour Dates!
I just added some new dates to my book tour!
I’ll be at MOFAD in NYC on 10/10 for a chat with Samantha Seneviratne, and I’ll be doing a Chai and Chat at Elaichi Co. in Berkley on 10/19!
For all those folks who want to come but won’t get their books until after the book tour dates because of shipping issues, I've made a ton of bookplates (basically large stickers) that I can sign for you so that you can stick them into your books once you get them! Drop by and say hi!
Chai Biskoot Cake
If you've watched my Instagram stories in the past two weeks, you know that I’ve been toiling at making this Chai Biskoot cake, which was inspired by this photo I saw on Instagram.
I finally got the recipe down for a cozy chai cake with a chai ermine frosting. Erminte frosting. Ermine frosting, also known as "boiled milk frosting" is a light and creamy frosting made using a cooked mixture of milk, flour, sugar, and butter. Unlike traditional buttercreams that rely on powdered sugar and/or eggs, ermine frosting is made with a custard-like base, which gives it a smooth texture with a lightly sweet flavor. This is the frosting to use when you’re baking for your parents and you’re fishing for the compliment of “it’s not too sweet”!
I pressed a variety of biscuits I grabbed at the Indian store along with some homemade ones (from Desi Bakes!) onto the cake to decorate! This cake would be absolutely gorgeous for your next dessert table!
